4-Step Exit Program© Creates Optimal Value

We’ve developed a practical and effective program to guide other entrepreneurs towards a Dream Exit. The 4-Step Exit Program© ensures optimal value creation on your way to a partial or complete exit. A partial exit often involves raising growth capital and selling part of the shares. Whatever your plans, you’ll be in a better position if your business is more valuable.

The 4-Step Exit Program© is designed to develop the best possible version of your business. To achieve this, we go through the four steps described below.

1

Intake Assessment

Intake Assessment

The purpose of the Intake Assessment is to create a complete overview of your organization. The first part you do yourself, using the NMB QuickScan©. This tool forces you to consider your business and gives you an initial idea of where you stand. Worth bearing in mind: the QuickScan also tells you how YOU view your business.

Discover what the NMB QuickScan© involves here

Once the NMB QuickScan© report is complete, you will present your business, services and/or products to us. This forms the starting point for the DeepScan© we perform. We will delve deeper to understand where your business is at. Once we’ve completed the DeepScan©, we have a clear idea of where you stand now and what your ambitions are.

Now it’s our turn for a presentation. We present our initial vision of your business.

This first step ends in a joint decision. Now that we both know where your business stands and what you want, we will discuss whether to proceed to the next step together. Are you convinced we are the right partner to guide you towards a Dream Exit? Are WE convinced as well? Is there sufficient trust and commitment on both sides?

Then, and only then, will we move to Step 2.

2

Business Review

Business Review

The results of the Intake Assessment (Step 1) form the starting point for the Business Review. During Step 2, we use the NMB Framework© to develop plans for the future. A guideline we developed to help you define your mission.

We also outline the Exit Profile you will be working towards. This describes the ideal version of your business in the future, at the time of exit. And of course we will develop a practical plan on how to get to this point.

The NMB Framework© is all about the Mission

The NMB Framework© is all about the Mission. Everyone in your organization must be aware of the Mission and it must be watertight. Moreover, the Mission must state exactly what you stand for and what you want to achieve, in just two sentences.

Obviously the areas relating to the Mission are the three key elements of the No Monkey Business method: Proposition, Go-to-Market and Delivery.

Proposition: products / services

The Proposition refers to the products and/or services that contribute to achieving your Mission. Sometimes, the Proposition no longer fits the Mission. A lack of focus can often be an obstacle to growth and success.

Go-to-Market plan and strategy

With your Proposition solidly in place, we can get started on your Go-to-Market plan and strategy. This element is completely dependent on your Proposition. If your Proposition isn’t absolutely clear, your Go-to-Market approach will lack cohesion. This can cause you to waste a lot of money.

Delivery – How to deliver on your promises?

The final element is Delivery. How will everything you promised in your Proposition and all your marketing communication actually be fulfilled, produced, delivered and implemented? Doing what you promised sounds simple, but it is the essence of your business. Customer retention and high customer satisfaction are foundations for further growth.

These three elements are closely interconnected. Their order is also important. An ambiguous Mission results in a vague Proposition, preventing the development of a clear Go-to-Market plan.

Strategy, Team and SysTech© Sub-elements

All three main elements consist of the same sub-elements:

  • Strategy (what are your strategic goals?)
  • Team (with whom will you achieve those goals?)
  • SysTech© (which systems and processes support this?)

The buyer’s perspective

An important aspect of this step is the fictitious buyer’s standpoint. How does a buyer look at your business? What would they want to see? By putting ourselves in the potential buyer’s position, we can develop an Exit Profile – what your business should ideally be like at the time of exit.

Analysis, objectives and projects

Using the results of our DeepScan© and the Exit Profile, we will perform a Fit/Gap analysis: on which aspects does your business currently score well, and where is there room for improvement? We define clear, workable projects, with schedules and lists of tasks. That way, everyone is clear on what must be done to achieve an optimal exit profile.

The projects make it easy to work towards that profile, step by step.

3

Delivery Phase

Delivery phase

This third step involves actually doing what we promised. We will effectively prepare your business for the next growth stage or Dream Exit. We have the insight, we have a mission and we have our projects. Now it’s time to build a project team.

No Monkey Business will take the lead on the projects.

We will define realistic schedules for each project. We will show how the projects are interconnected and interdependent. Your organization will carry out the projects, but we will monitor them regularly.

We are closely involved in monitoring, safeguarding the goals and scheduling. Where necessary or useful, our “black belt” network of specialists can be called in for support. Your and your team’s commitment is essential to your mission’s success.

Our work is entirely focused on value creation

Everything we do revolves around value creation. We make sure to create the best version of your business on every level. This varies per business, but may involve strategy, systems, people, methods, technology, and much more. It all depends on our analysis and your business’s maturity level before we came on board.

4

Exit Now

Exit Now

In this final step, we will help you enter the market to raise the capital required or for a complete exit.

This is the moment we have worked towards together. Your company is at the top of its game on all levels: it has a clear Mission, a good Proposition, a well-defined Go-to-Market strategy, and a solid Delivery method. You have great, satisfied customers. You’re ready for that Dream Exit.

At this stage, there are a few aspects that require attention. Fortunately, No Monkey Business has the necessary know-how and experience to skilfully guide you through the process.

We have access to a network of potential buyers, such as venture capitalists and strategic buyers, and we will include your own list of buyers as well. We ensure that there is a sense of urgency among all suitable candidates. At this stage, our approach is aimed at maximizing your value.

And because we have worked our way through the 4-Step Exit Program© together, everything is ready. A data room has been set up and we are able to provide the requested data at a moment’s notice. Being able to quickly provide any requested information greatly increases the buyer’s confidence, which is vital to achieve a successful transaction. After signing all the required papers, we will celebrate the conclusion of this intensive, productive stage together.
